World Mental Health Day 2026
Supporting Mental Health, One Conversation at a Time
Every year on 10th October, World Mental Health Day brings people together to raise awareness, encourage open conversations and remind us that looking after our mental health is just as important as looking after our physical health.
At i2i Recruitment, we believe that recruitment is about much more than matching candidates with job opportunities. It’s about understanding people, recognising their individual circumstances and supporting them throughout their career journeys.
Whether you’re searching for your first job, considering a career change or navigating a challenging period at work, we want you to know that your wellbeing matters, and we’re here to support you.
Why Mental Health Awareness Matters
Mental health challenges can affect anyone, regardless of their age, background or career stage. However, the pressures of everyday life, workplace responsibilities and job searching can sometimes make these challenges even harder to manage.
According to mental health charity Mind:
- 1 in 4 people experience a mental health problem of some kind each year in England.
- 1 in 5 people report experiencing a common mental health problem, such as anxiety or depression, in any given week in England.

Furthermore, the Health and Safety Executive reported that 964,000 workers in Great Britain experienced work-related stress, depression or anxiety during 2024/25, resulting in approximately 22.1 million working days lost.

These figures highlight why mental health awareness is so important, particularly in the workplace. Behind every statistic is a person who deserves understanding, compassion and access to support.
A Little Advice From the i2i Team
To mark World Mental Health Day 2026, we asked members of our team to share a piece of advice for candidates who might be experiencing challenges during their job search or career journey.
Because sometimes, a few encouraging words can make all the difference.
Supporting Our Candidates Beyond the Job Search
At i2i Recruitment, we understand that looking for a new job isn’t always straightforward. Applications, interviews, rejection emails and uncertainty about the future can sometimes feel overwhelming, particularly when you’re already managing other pressures in your life.
That’s why we aim to make the recruitment process as supportive, transparent and positive as possible.
Our consultants are here to listen to your concerns, provide honest feedback, help you prepare for interviews and guide you towards opportunities that genuinely suit your skills, ambitions and circumstances.
However, our support doesn’t stop at finding you a job. We care about the people behind the CVs, and we want our candidates to feel comfortable reaching out whenever they need career advice, reassurance or simply someone to talk through their next steps with.
You are more than your CV, more than an interview and more than a job title.
Need Someone to Talk To? Support Is Available
If you or someone you know is struggling with their mental health, please remember that you don’t have to face it alone. Reaching out for support is an important step, and there are organisations dedicated to helping.
